From January 1st 2024, CVA has a strengthened team, notably through the transition to partner of its senior counsel Mariana Tavares, in the context of a sustained growth strategy that has made our firm a benchmark in the legal world in Portugal and Europe, particularly in the areas of European Union and Competition, Digital and Energy Law and Fundamental Rights.
Mariana Tavares is a lawyer with extensive experience in European Union and Competition Law, having worked as an assessor at the Court of Justice of the European Union and as an International Consultant for the UN. She has held senior positions in the Portuguese Competition Authority, actively contributing to the development of competition laws and policies. She holds a PhD from King’s College London, an LL.M from Duke University and a postgraduate qualification in European Law from the Université Libre de Bruxelles.
In 2024, CVA will intensify its international activity in order to meet the needs of our clients, through cooperation protocols already signed with highly specialised law firms, namely in Spain and Brazil, reinforcing the Iberian, European and Latin American components.
