Areas of Practice

European Union Law

Regulatory

The growing number of rules adopted by the EU legislator in the various sectors has created additional challenges for companies, leading to the need for constant monitoring of the regimes to be observed.

Environmental Law

Over the decades the European Union has developed a complex environmental regulatory framework. Several hundred regulations, directives and decisions that are part of everyday life for citizens and businesses are currently in place.

Product Safety and Consumer Protection

Product safety and consumer protection are two key concerns of the European Union. EU provisions on these aspects regulate physical transactions and e-commerce. They contain rules of general application and provisions on specific products, such as medicines, genetically modified organisms, tobacco products, cosmetics, toys and explosives.

REACH

The REACH Regulation (regarding the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals) establishes procedures for the collection and assessment of information on the properties and hazards of chemicals, requiring companies to register their substances. The REACH Regulation applies‑ to all chemicals, not only to those used in industrial processes, but also to those that are part of our daily lives, such as those contained in cleaning products and paints, in items such as clothing, furniture and electric appliances. The Regulation has an impact on most companies in the European Union.
